Robert Writes..."Our state's financial crisis continues thanks to extremist ideologues among the Republican Party"

Um...no sparky, our state financial crises is caused by a corrupt Democrat controlled legislature who spends beyond our means and an impotent failed governer who lied to the electorate and enables the behavior.

Mob Boss Don Perata (the bloated, corrupt leader of the pack that is under active investigation by the FBI and FPCC) is finally termed out - when he leaves at the end of the year it will certainly help.

The free thinkers from both parties as well as independents like myself thank heaven every day for the "minority party" and urge them to fight on.

A few facts genius:

1. We currently Pay the highest State Sales tax in the country
2. We have one of the highest State Income taxes in the country
3. We have one of the highest gas taxes in the country.
4. Our teachers are some of the highest paid in the country.
5. This legislature spent through a $40 Billion real estate tax windfall like drunken sailors.
6. We have one of the most Anti-Business tax systems in the country.

Keep up the good fight Repubs...oh and hey Robert - Get a job (if you actually had one, you wouldn't be so willing to throw your money away)!

Great post there Tim...

Why is they can't figure out that we cannot spend our way out of debt?

I think they should all be voted out of office after this latest fiasco. Can't come up with a budget, but they can go on vacation? Do your job, then think about vacation.

Maybe the answer is a part-time operation. Give them "X" hours to accomplish the things that are necessary. Then, tell them they're not getting paid for any hours beyond what is alloted to them to accomplish those tasks.

How can anyone blame the budget problems on Republicans?

It's the stupid Democraps who screwed the budget up and who are the spending whores.

This is a joke and California is a joke.

Keep voting for Democrats all you naive California voters and I promise, things will only get ten times worse. For you and you kids.

Blaaahaahaahaaa. I am just dumbfounded by the sheer lack of common sense which runs this state.

Assemblyman Tony Mendoza clearly lives in a different world than the average Californian! He blames the Republican minority in the Assembly and the two-thirds requirement for the budget mess the state is currently in. Well Assemblyman Mendoza and to all you other Democrats out there, THE TWO-THIRDS REQUIREMENT HAS BEEN THE ONLY THING KEEPING RUNAWAY SPENDING FROM BECOMING MUCH WORSE! As bad as things are now, the Democrats would be going hog wild, were there no two-thirds requirement to keep them in check. Assemblyman Mendoza states "California needs to move forward and transition itself from a two-thirds vote to a simple majority." No, Assemblyman, California needs to move forward and transition itself to learning to live within its means, which means CUTTING UP THE TAXPAYER-FUNDED STATE CREDIT CARD!!!! When will these clowns wake up???

Assemblyman Tony Mendoza from Norwalk is one of the inept Democrats holding office in California.

This imbecile should not be commenting on such issues because he's part of the problem.

This guy - Mendoza, loves to give away benefits to all the illegal aliens in his district.

He does nothing for the citizens who complain about the crime and gangs in his district either.

Hey Tony, you said your gonna do something about all the gangs? You've done nada.

I am 61 years old and I am mad as hell. Apathy is killing this country as we know it. Everyone is good at saying the right words, but guilty of sitting on their apathetic butts when it comes to action. Over and over the voting public re-elects the same people into office regardless if they did a good job or not. The people of making the laws in many cases are breaking the law.
They are all self serving hypocrites who are only interested in getting re-elected. And of course getting that pension that we taxpayers will be providing them for the rest of their lives, yet we have no pensions. They vote against universal health care for us, but they will have great health care for them and their families for the rest of their natural lives provided again by the taxpayers. They spend like drunken sailors and we do nothing to stop it.
California taxes it's residents to death or until they finally get fed up and move on, there is no end to them, just look at your telephone bill or your water bill...
When are we the taxpayers going to get sick and tired of being soaked? When are YOU going to get mad enough to get off your apathetic butt and write a letter or make a call to the law makers? Well I personally hope it is soon..........because if isn't ......we will get exactly what we deserve.
