Restrictions, recycling in Los Angeles water plan

Why don't they build a desalinization plant like most of the middle east uses? Are they not right next to a larger body of water known as the Pacific ocean? Too much money??? Not environmentally friendly??? What's the deal?

Why don't people stop breeding? Ever consider going to the source of the problem, or is drinking fecal water just easier?

Don't you like a poo-poo with your water? The mid-west and the eastern part of this country have been using sewage processing plants and recycling the water for almost 50 years now. With all the movie magic they surely have the engineers there that could up with something to help them out.

concerns about recycling water lies in all the toxics people throw down the drain. Typical American "out of sight, out of mind" mentality. There is already a problem with prescription drugs showing up in our water, as well as all sorts of household chemicals being disposed down the toilet. And, yes, stop having so many children!!! Yes,especially the wealthy, as they use more natural resources in thier wealthier lifestyles.

You realize, of course, that nations with higher per capita income already have lower birthrates? |
duh! what does that have to do with what happens in this country in regards to having too many children. We, as a nation, are responsible for gobbling up far more of our fair share of natural resources than other, poorer countries. In this country, a child born to an upper class family uses more than 100 x's the natural resources of a child born in a developing country. so, yes, the wealthy should not have more than 1 child per adult, because the ability to pay money for said child is just part of the equation |
