N.C. police officer charged with statutory rape

A Boiling Spring Lakes police officer has been charged with the statutory rape of a teenage girl with whom he communicated with on MySpace, a popular Internet site, authorities said.

In response to this report, a report I might add has no factual or useful information. Luke Stidham is my brother and I am damn proud of my brother. All facts of this case have not yet been made public. As usual, the media has sensationalized this case to boost their own pathetic careers and ratings. My brother is an outstanding police officer who only wanted to help those in his community. It is a shame that only certain specifics of this case have been blown up and other very useful information over looked or passed over because it just doesn't make good entertainment. What happened to " Innocent until proven guilty " ? Anyone of us could be in the same situation as my brother. He simply was trying to help a very troubled young girl. Also, who are any of you to sit in judgment of my brother, are your houses so unbreakable? I love my brother and know the the type of man he is. He is an honorable man with strong convictions. So, unless you know my brother personally as well as the details to this case.... I suggest you tend to your own life and your own obstacles. Here is another tip for you, when publishing comments on a public website, it might benefit you to know what you're actually talking about.... just a thought.
