Well well look what we have here....a deserter!!! Steven Arceneaux, known to some people as "Scuba Steve" has deserted his Army and his country in war time. When I heard it this morning on KTBS, I was not surprised one bit. The boy should get jail time and a dishonorable discharge from the Army. What he did was wrong. He knew what he was getting himself into when he joined up for the Army. But, look who we are talking about. Someone who could not hold down a real job. Got fired from many. He even has babies around town he don't care for. So, what ever the Army has in store for him he deserves it.

You don't know anything about why he did what he did and you have no right to judge him. I'm sick of people acting all high and mighty and bashing my friend. He knows what he did and now he is taking responsibility-the 'anonymous' tip wasn't quite anonymous and the circumstances surrounding his children have NOTHING to do with this. Do something more productive with your time-like maybe GET A LIFE AND STOP GOSSIPING 'ANONYMOUSLY' ONLINE.

I do know the circumstances behind him deserting his country/the Army because I am related to him. He's a loser....PLAIN AND SIMPLE!! Everyone he was around he screwed. He screwed me out of money, he screwed his mom/grandma out of money to buy a yellow Corvette. He screwed and humiliated many females in the area as stated on one of his radio remote shows. He also screwed his new wife into marrying him (all he wanted was money like usual)He's probably not going to get what he deserves, but what he does get i'm sure he will not like.

If I was the army (or whatever branch he was in, he told so many lies who knows)I wouldnt want that scum being associated with them. It's bad for our country to have people like STEVE ARCENEAUX representing us with a gun anywhere.

He has a new wife? You know I was supposed to marry him but he changed his mind at the last minute. And then he went to Washington and some girl sent me a message and told me that he was telling everyone that I died!!! How upsetting!!! And yes... humiliating. I wonder if I knew you.

I do know him and I know about the things he has done and the people he has hurt. I've wanted to help him for years but you can't help someone who doesn't want it---well, now he does. He asked me for my help BEFORE he was picked up. I've known Steven for a while and I've known him better than most people. He IS my friend-a friend that wants to change his life and if I didn't try to help him do that-what kind of person would I be? Everyone is acting like he is the only guy in the world who has lied or stolen-I'm not making excuses for him but my god-GET OVER IT. He's not the first and he definitely won't be the last so if you want to waste your time talking shit-go right ahead. I've got better things to do.

The bottom line is that he is a user. He uses people to get what he wants and has no regrets about the people he hurts. He will lie, cheat, steal or do whatever else he feels it takes to get what he wants. I am sure that your not the first person he has asked for help and probably won't be the last. google his name and see how many people he has stolen from. He doesn't want your help, he wants you to feel sorry for him and when he is done using you he will throw you away like the rest. I don't think he is the only guy who is lied or stolen but a criminal is a criminal bottom line. He is a sociopath. He cannot tell the difference between right and wrong and you cannot fix that. He needs professional help not people who will justify his every wrong doing. It is not like he joined the military before the war happened. He joined during and knew what he was getting himself into. My husband is military and spent 18 months away from me, his newborn daughter as well as the rest of his family. Steven should not have joined if he didn't want to go.

Did he or did he not join the Army?? Yes
Did he or did he not desert in a time of war?? Yes
Did he or did he not know what in was in for?? Yes
Case closed, He should be executed for desertion in a time of war. Look at the other heros we have serving our country, they may not agree with it but they do there job & for that we owe them. Thanks to the men & women that protect us & our freedoms w/o them this country would be nothing.

I'm a friend of the beautiful young lady that he married in WA State. Everything you say about him is true. He is a loser. He took her for all her money and did nothing but use her. She was blinded by love and I thank God everyday that she finally woke up and saw him for what he truly is. I TOTALLY agree with "Biggun in Texarkana" we have many men and women that have died for our wonderful country and Steven is a TOTAL Disgrace to our Great Country. Steven is only a user and anyone who falls for his lies of wanting to change and clean up his life is a fool. If he truly wants to change then he will do it by himself!!

I hope the Army gives him everything he deserves.

I truly hope he gets the help he needs because his problems stem deep down into his psyche. He's not like the rest of us. Nor do I think he could be rehabilitated to function normally in the world, EVER! You say he asked you for help...did you give him the simple words of advice to turn himeself in? No....so....what exactly did you think you could do...honestly Jessica....if you knew how deep of a hole he was in...what other advice/help could you have given him....?

He is absolutely not the only guy to do these things. DUH! I have not, nor has anyone else, said he is the only person to lie, cheat, steal, rape, etc.

But bailing him out by sending who knows how many checks to people that he owes money to isnt going to change Steve. It only allows him to do it again, knowing someone will be there when he gets too caught up in his psychological two sided personality. BTW: he didnt even tell you everything because i know other people who he owes money to still

I wish I would have gotten my psych minor in college because that would have been one great person to do a study case on.

In any case, he's burned too many bridges in skating to ever compete again. And that's a heck of a lot of bridges to burn down. I dont know what other areas in his life are the same way, but my guess is prolly most or all of them.

But his first and biggest issue is how the army (is that what he was in anyway..he told us he was a ranger, is that the same thing?) Hope it gets dragged out and he gets the psychological help and medicine he needs for as long as they can keep him for.

then it will be back on the streets, doing who knows what....well....prolly know what but...i hope he finds peace in life, somehow. he wont get any sympathy from me, whatever happens to him, karma is a bitch.

Steve was never an Army Ranger and never trained as one. I am embarrassed to say I trained along side Steve in boot camp. We should have gone together to Iraq, but he had other plans. He confided in me that he was threatened with bodily harm by an Army officer and that is why he did not go on the plane.

Well i must say, i agree with alot of people here. Infact, in skating he was on my team, and i have a friend whos 16 that kinda looked up to STEVE. and he was told by alot of ppl to watch out for the guy. But he didnt believe it. At first, he laughed. until he was told bout only maybe 5% of the shit steves done. im glad he was informed cuz i was scared for him getting kidnapped raped robbed or anything close to the sort. =[
