I just wanted to vent about the horrible conditions of the bathrooms in Hermosa beach (namely 2nd Street). I have been going there for years, and it has always been my favorite beach. But the bathroom is missing a toilet, and a sink. And the smell is so bad you have to hold your breath. Everything is so unsanitary it is unbelievable!
When it costs us about $5.00 or more a day to park at the meters and enjoy the beach in one of the most wealthy towns, you would think we deserve better public bathroom conditions. Kay in Torrance |

The girl with the pretty face-wasn't she in the gymnastics competition as well? She's at least sixteen, right?

Marshall knows for a fact that these are not 40 year bonds. I was sitting in the room when he asked the Board about this. Staff was very clear that the bonds are 25 year bonds.
Yet he immediately lies in his letter to the editor. That is how Rick Marshall opposes bond measures, by using ridiculous scare tactics and lies. Thank God this idiot isn't on our School Board. He opposes public education, and the voters of Torrance oppose him. If you are going to be an anti-activist, the least you could do is educate yourself. Rick pretended to do that at the last Board meeting, but in the end he decided to lie again. |

Jill,
Please email me grmarshall@sbcglobal.net. To Rick is a liar, Yes, they are 25 year bonds but they are not all sold on day one. If you were in the room, you heard they will be sold in three series, at least three years apart. That's 9 years. Taxpayers are assessed from the date the first bonds are sold. 25+9 is 34 if they keep on the schedule. That is the shortest period. If you read your agenda materials, I point you to page DA-1 of the backup materials for the August 8th special meeting: "Other Terms of the Bonds. When sold, the bonds shall bear interest at an annual rate not exceeding the statutory maximum, and that interest shall be made payable at the time or times permitted by law. The bonds may be issued and sold in several series, and no bond shall be made to MATURE NOT MORE THAN 40 YEARS from the date borne by that bond." (emphasis mine) Bottom line: this is a legal requirement to allow them to sell bonds as needed as long as the maturity date of the is no longer than 40 years. There was no commitment to keep the repayement period under 25 years. There is a legal requirement to keep the repayment period at most 40 years. My letter referenced this legal requirement which may or may not happen but it is certainly not in the hands of taxpayers. |

The big two on the School Board should apply to reality TV and lose weight so they can walk the City and tell everyone to vote Yes on T.

Go G Rick Marshall. Keep the school district honest, and force them to stop wasting our precious tax dollars...
To Rick is a liar: Rick ISN'T against education, he is against the wasteful spending habits by the school district. Remember when Measure R passed and the sitting Superintendent received a $40k bonus ?? I thought the district DIDN'T have any extra money to spend on the children ?? That $40k could've gone to one of those deplorable schools the district keeps preaching to us about, but it didn't... It went into someones pocket.. It's all about the children, all right ... The school district wastes OUR tax dollars, period !!! And until EVERYONE of us tax payers realizes that, their wasteful spending habits will never stop. Vote NO on any new taxes the school district puts on the ballot... They need to learn to live within their means.. EVERYONE else is doing it ... |

Lets double dose
D and T Recall on the Board And No on the Personnel Commission Dr Frank Retired but Working. |
Why does the same person post on here over and over again. Anything Torrance related is sure to have the same "haiku" style posts from the same ignorant person who is so gutless they cant even sign their name.
If you are going to post terrible lies about public servants, the least you can do is post your name behind it. The Daily Breeze needs to move their forum or require people to put their real names on their posts. We wont see anymore of these strange posts from "TUSD" or "Rick Personnel Commission" or the countless other fake names that this one whiner posts under. We all know who you are. And we are all less and less interested in having you around. Just give it time, and you will become completely irrelevant...as if you aren't already. |
TorranceTruth nevers gives out our names, just the truth. We support Rick Marshall because he exposes the lies in the city. |
The previous post was not made by the authors of TorranceTruth.com or DanWalker.Info. We would never support Rick Marshall. We are quite happy that he is not on the Torrance Unified School Board and we support the new Bond Measure.

The previous post was not made by the authors of TorranceTruth.com or RecallScotto.com . We support Rick Marshall because he exposes corruption in the city, especially by Frank Scotto. We are disappointed that he is not on the Torrance Unified School Board and we are suspicious of the new Bond Measure. |

Wow. This is getting juvenile. Perhaps we need to bring the website back after all...
Yes, we need the web site back to expose the truth about what is going on at city hall. Its been terrible with what has been happening to the employees and all the backroom deals by the mayor. |
Consider it done. The website will come back, but I have a feeling you aren't going to be too happy with it.
Instead of describing the bogus situations you describe above, we are going to bring the real truth about all the strange people who post on here. Its really not that hard to find out who posts on these boards... and it will create enough stories to be a website all to itself. Between Jeannie, Eric and John, we've got plenty of ammo. |

Its about time, the website will come back, but I have a feeling you aren't going to be too happy with it because it will expose the real TorranceTruth about Mayor Scotto. Instead of describing the bogus situations and smoke screens at city hall, we are going to bring the real truth about all the strange people who do the dirty work to the powers at city hall. Its really not that hard to find out who posts on these boards... and it will create enough stories to be a website all to itself. Between Frank, Tom, Pat, and Bill, we've got plenty of ammo to write about and expose the corruption and the back room deals going on at Torrance City Hall. |
dude...i'd think twice about resurrecting the website...folks already know it's you and you may hurt poppa furey...let it die or risk exposing/hurting a councilman's reputation

I have a REALLY STRONG feeling that nobody posting on here is the real author of the TorranceTruth website. I mean REALLY STRONG feeling.
And did I just read another accusation on who the author was. Geez. Another personal attack on a Councilmember. All too funny. 2006. 2008. Cant wait for 2010. |
