Vince Cantu has been a coach for Murphy Ranch Little League for many years, as well as serving on their Board. Vince was supposed to be a role model and mentor to the many young boys who looked to him for guidance and support. Wow, what a disappointment. It will be interesting to see how the League will handle or address this situation with the players. Maybe it's best to just leave it alone. I know, "innocent until proven guilty", but it looks like they've got their man. What irony - from police officer to robbery suspect. Now that's sad. But the saddest part to all of this is what his family is going through, especially his kids. There's a real possibility they may lose their dad for a long time - I'm sure he'll be "apologetic" about that.

Kiss him ADIOS! He's off on a permanent vacation in Mexico! Prison for an ex-cop is no pic-nic.

Im glad this scum is going away! Ill never feel sorry for his family. They don't care about any of our families or problems we may be going through when we get locked up! The cops are just just a bunch of brain washed thugs! They lie cheat, and steal just like the rest of society!

Sad.

There's good and bad in all. He won't be going to a Mexican jail. He'll be incarcerated here. I don't think police depts hire illegals so why would he be deported to Mexico? I feel sorry for the family. It's sad, shocking and an embarassment. He screwed up his whole life as well as others.

Shameful. What in the H E L L was he thinking? That he wouldn't/couldn't be caught? Adds another black mark against ALL law enforcement, current and retired.
Wasn't his retirement, etc., enough to get by on, for s*h*i*t*s sake? |
|
Not much of a retiremnet after 8 years. Probably why he had to supplement it the way he did. Not only sad, but embarassing.

Usually when you retire for medical reasons, you get your FULL salary (TAX FREE) plus full medical benefits. Theoretically, he would have been making more money being retired then he did when he was employed. |

"Adds another black mark against ALL laww enforcement..." Huh?
Using your philosophy, your stoopid comment makes the rest is us stoopid too, by association I guess. I only see a black mark (a BIG one) against Cantu. |

Must have found himself in a desparate financial situation where desparate people do desparate acts...how very disappointing he chose to rob banks..

None of us understand this persons situation. We dont know what causes people to do things like this. I think it is sad if a parent makes a terrible choice (If he is found guilty) and we have no compassion for his family especially his children.

Much of this kind of behaviour is due to a drug addiction. In his case it might be pain killers. People due out of personality crazy stuff for drug money. Just a guess.

FED UP,
He lived in a nice area. He interacted with some wealthy people. Must have been desprate to keep up with his lifestyle... "Every man has his breaking point" |

Ok after reading all the "messages" I agree it is sad, and it is embarrassing. BUT he is a good guy and yes he has a wonderful family. I think as one of the message state above, perhaps pain killers did something. No one knows. I hope for his family sake that their privacy be kept private. And please be mindful of your comments, his family could be reading them.

My STOOPID comment was in regards to those cop-hating bloggers who can't wait to post their "See? All cops are crooks!" comments, and do judge ALL in LE guilty--all because of one crooked ex-cop. So my STOOPID comment makes myself, Shrek, my bro and sis STOOPID, too.... |

With a knee problem he didn't get near his full salary.

Off the subject as usual,, I am.
FYI- Mesa, Az has halted the use of all codes (9 code, 10 Code, penal code etc) on radio transmissions. More of that touchy feely crap I guess.

It makes you wonder if he was engaging in other illegal activities when he was a cop.

The only thing that seems to tie him to this, acording to the story is that he was driving a car that look like the one leaving the scene. The story doesn't even say if they found cash on him as he was suposed to be leaving a bank robbery. I'm not saying he didn't do it but I dont see that he did either
