Conditions ripe for one of the fire worst seasons in Southern C...

Already weary from battling wicked wildfires across Northern California this summer, firefighters now are gearing up for what could be one of the worst fire seasons in Southern California history.

My personal thanks to Jason Kandel for a timely and well written article. The 'wild card' facing firefighters each day is human behavior. Fire prevention efforts, fire safe living and personal emergency planning by those we proudly serve will remain key to our common survival. I am a member of the California National Guard here in Southern California. I am please to pass on to the residents of this great city we have been training for wildland firefighting with the US Forest Service and the LA County Fire Dept. and are ready to help with our aircraft and handcrews
