What in this is executive experience, as is used in describing corporate officials, governors, and heads of state?

I think I may have gotten to the right forum. May I please ask what an organizer does? I have never heard of a job as an organizer. Just what do you organize, welfare help, community help, doctor help, dating help or what. I always thought these were community positions that were done on a volunteer basis. Just what experience do you really need. I want some help to determine if Barry is qualified to be President. Everyone keeps saying he was an organizer so I need to know the requirements. Thank You

Glad to obloige.
- He fought for asbestos removal from public housing, affecting the lives of large numbers of children and adults.

- He ran a voter registration drive, which resulted in registering 150,000 new voters.

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife
and two small children.

Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge kni fe
comes around the corner, locks eyes with you,
screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the
knife, and charges at you.

You are carrying a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP , and you are an expert shot.

You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

THINK CAREFULLY AND THEN SCROLL DOWN:

Democrat's Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire
him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock
the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind
of message does this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be
content just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my
family get away while he was stabbing me?
Should I call 9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and
make this happier, healthier street that would
discourage such behavior.
This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with
some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

...but it is very stupid to under estimate an opponent....and there is nothing wrong in getting an African American as president - it's about time.
It is further nothing wrong to be the mother of a pregnant teenage daughter, but it is stupid to damn sex before marriage because you then damn some 80% of your citizens. When you combine anti-abortion views with denial of educating teen agers in school about sex and contraceptives it is outright Christian fundamentalism - and that is DANGEROUS and depressing.
The interesting thing is that if the Reps get around 50% of the votes because of Palin -and her views in these questions - there must be a considerable degree of hypocrisy amongst the Republican voters -
I think Obama showed class when he was asked about her pregnant teenage daughter:
"My mother was 18 when she got me - leave them in peace".

The Woods Foundation, Obama and Ayers

Disparities - Certain racial and ethnic populations in the U.S. suffer from worse health and receive lower-quality health care than WHITES, regardless of geography, income and health insurance coverage.(RACIST)

http://www.rwjf.or g/pr/topic.jsp?top icid=1180

>>> more about the woods foundation

A notable Woods board member is William Ayers, who in the 1960s was a member of the terrorist group Weatherman, and was a wanted fugitive for over a decade as a result of the group's bombing campaign; today Ayers is a Professor of Education at the University of Illinois. In 2002 the Woods Fund made a grant to Northwestern University Law School's Children and Family Justice Center, where Ayers' wife, Bernardine Dohrn, was employed. Barack Obama was one of Ayers' fellow Woods Fund board members at that time.(TERRORIST)

>>> more on obama, ayers and the wood foundation

During Wednesday’s debate, Mr. Obama was questioned about his ties to Mr. Ayers through the Woods Fund — a private foundation with more than $58-million in assets that works to alleviate poverty. According to the Woods Fund’s filings with the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Ayers, now a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, has been a member of the Woods Fund’s board of directors since at least 1998. He has received $6,000 annually for his work on the board. Mr. Obama, meanwhile, had been a board member from 1998 through 2001. The foundation’s Form 990-PF tax filings show Mr. Obama received similar $6,000 payments in 1998, 1999, and 2000. He did not receive any compensation in 2001, the tax records show. George Stephanopoulos, one of the ABC News moderators of the debate, asked Mr. Obama about his relationship with Mr. Ayers.“An early organizing meeting for your state senate campaign was held at his house, and your campaign has said you are friendly,” Mr. Stephanopoulos said.“Can you explain that relationship for the voters, and explain to Democrats why it won’t be a problem?”“President Clinton pardoned or commuted the sentences of two members of the Weather Underground, which I think is a slightly more significant act than me serving on a board with somebody for actions that he did 40 years ago,” Mr. Obama said.(NO ANSWER answer)

In our town, our (unpaid) community organizers have done the following:

(1) raise money for our schools
(2) bring programs into our schools
(3) helped students in need with tutoring, etc
(4) worked to receive better service from the local utilites company
(5) worked to receive better service from our government officials
(6) rallied around to get our streets cleaner
(7) raised money for children's events
(8) donated food and other goods to the homeless
(9) fight and fundraised for school crossing guards
(10) organized jobs for those in need
(11) worked for better planning and development
(12) hosted events that bring people together
(13) hosted events to raise money for a huge array of causes especially for our young people
(14) fundraised for something as simple as band uniforms and sports uniforms and band equipment for our children
(15) worked with the transit officials to get better public transport
(16) worked with our city officials to bring "change" for the better for everyone

I only allowed myself to give you a mere 16 examples of grass roots community organizers in our town (there are many more).

Our grass roots community advisers don't care about class, gender or color but look at the town as a whole and how we can all make it better.

Sort of like our future president who thinks that helping your own neighborhood/town is worthy of spending our own time and energy and leadership skills and will do the same as the next president!

Nice to see the GOP contempt for people like the time John McCain saw a woman who protested him getting manhandled at the convention while he spoke and said "my friends don't pay attention to the noise or the static"...... How could someone who feels the pain of being silenced in a prison camp have been so calous? He's not a great man. And after his comments last night - in my book he's not a man at all. He's lost my vote!
"manhandled" ha ha. The cow should have left when asked. I don't remember seeing any anti-obama people protesting at his speech. The wiseasses should have some respect. They had plenty of places to protest.

My town would be considered "well off" compared to most in this country but there is still a need for "grass roots community organizers" to help out with programs, people and issues that need to be addressed.

People. You are using the internet to make your postings, right? Well, get of your lazy @$$es and do the research...Barak was a community organizer AFTER Harvard. After, people.
If you're going to make statements that you believe will help your poorly reasoned points, at LEAST do the damn research! You have the tool at your fingertips...literally!
I have to correct you. Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983. He worked in Chicago as a community organizer from 1985 to 1988. AFTER that, he left Chicago to attend Harvard Law School. It is true, however, that after receiving his law degree, Obama then worked on a statewide voter registration drive.
I guess you needed a little more research too. By the way, I am a staunch Obama supporter.

<quoted text>Not by Obama
Again, you don't get it. What does Obama have to do with what's going on with your body (if you are a woman) and your family life and its decisions?

No matter who becomes president, you still have to make family decisions, and life decisions. No one can do that for you.

Again, Sen. Obama is pro-choice.
In other words, the decision is yours and yours alone. No matter who helped and counseled you, ex. G-D, family, friends, co-workers, clergy, psychiatrist, doctor, whoever...the decision is yours, and yours alone.

The decision you make, is the decision you live with.

Education, and better education, can help you to make decisions, and better decisions.
