You open with a line designed to turn off anyone that does not already agree with you, then you make some cogent comments, then you close with an inflammatory remark assured to turn away those who do not already agree with you.

I have repeatedly tried to dialogue with this poster regarding her stand and position on christianity, judaism and islam.
Since the poster is overtly anti-christian and
anti-judaic but pro-islamic.
She only continues to label all jewish people as "zionists" ... all christians as "religious zealots/fanatics" ... but the islamic religion is exempt.
While the truth is, the islamic religion is just as religiously fanatical and zealous.
Period.
But the dodging on this issue ...
I'll leave it there.

I have a few. Deafened. PTSD. I have other health issues not classified as disabling but I had no need to with the first two.

I am on this forum more now than I will be able to do I think after Labor Day. I will be teaching two ASL course, maybe another starting in September. Now I am on an interim. Kids go back to school next Tuesday. I also watch TV and do other things while posting.

Obama doesn't associate with family. You do understand that one cannot choose their family? He can choose his friends. I would have more respect for him if he spent more time with his family and less with his friends. He has spent more time with Ayers than with his brother, George. He has spent a great deal of time with Jeremiah Wright. Your argument doesn't work.

I expect the same things of my black friends as I do of my white and other friends. I expect decency and rspect for others and working together for common goals and interests. I doubt that any of my white friends would think that I expect any more or any less of them.

As a high school teacher years ago I had in terms of academic performance the same expectations of all my students. In fact I had some students achieve new levels in academic performance simply because someone for the first time believed they could. I had one young student, a white male, who was considered to be a low achiever, really come through for me. He got a B in the class. He was so excited as if he had gotten his first A.

And I have known teachers who look at different groups of students and judge early on (or accept the judgments of others) that they would not do well. Race was one factor, but I saw judgments based on gender, perceived economic class based on clothing style or manners, and more. none of that is fair to anyone.

I support that legal action. If someone places an ad on TV making not simply exaggerated statements about you but false ones and you have the means, will you not sue? Yes, sure, some may believe the allegations to be true, but if it can be shown in a court of law that the makers of these ads knew this information not to be true and proceeded anyway, does a person have or not have the right to sue? Does free speech include the right to yell fire in a crowded theater or make in published form (such as TV commercials) knowingly false statements that grossly malign the character of another person or impair their livelihood?

I referred to no blogs. I referred to newspaper reports and previously to the DOJ.

Your "reply" does not change the reality that while the deaths are despicable in both cases, they are different kinds of situations. The homicides in any major American city are not the result of a major leader elected to office leading a set of troops into war. The Iraq invasion is and it did not need to happen by any standard representing the interests of American citizens. And do not repeat the refrain that it was a war on terrorism. We know it was not. Even well-respected conservative economist Alan Greenspan says it was a war about oil (and yes, we the common Americans are not beneficiaries of this).
