Shows Us Your Birth Certificate, Sen. Obama

The news media should not let up until Sen. Barack Obama produces a birth certificate which proves his status as a "natural born U.S. citizen." The U.S. Constitution requires a person to be a natural born ...

What a load of crap from an immigration lawyer, at that. If Obama never went to Kenya to claim his dual citizenship, he doesn't exist in Kenya. In any event, he was born in the US and that's all the Constitution requires. He can't be de-naturalized and stripped of his citizenship.

The Panama Canal region was built by the US and kept that way since day one. As a matter of fact, many of the people living there were imported from the English-speaking Caribbean.

Seems a little screwy though. Refusing to show he's a natural born citizen. Should he be elected and then found out not to be, what would this say to anyone else wanting to hold presidential office in the future? How would this play out? Don't we have enough issues to be concerned with, without something of this nature? Just show your certificate and let's move on. There are too many other important issues out there. Solve it and move on!!

This man is running for the highest office of this nation. We have the right to know who we are electing. If it's a no brainer, then just show the certificate. No bid deal!!

"We tried to obtain a copy of Obama’s birth certificate, but his campaign would not release it and the state of Hawaii does not make such records public."

I think Obama is going to have to produce a birth certificate eventually just to shut the hatemongers up and substantiate his legal right to run for the Presidency. This is only the beginning. They will be going after him with every little spec of mudslinging propaganda they can find to bar him from becoming the first half-black person to be elected President. It's going to get dirty.

It is a big deal; that is an insult! Anyone who asks, is an ignorant ass. He is a smart man, he wouldn't run for president is he wasn't a citizen! Never in history has any candidat been asked this, but there is finally a chance that a person of color could win and people have doubts. That is the problem with the US, citizens have a mentality that only white people can be true citizens!

Never in history has a candidate had an Muslim immigrant father who left the USA not long after their birth. Or would you rather he be elected then a lawsuit be filed questioning his "Natural born Citizen" status? At least McCain is ahead of the game on this and had Constitutional scholars issue their judgement. Why won't Obama put it to bed? It just make people think he is hiding something.

WHat does religion have to do with it? His father was the immigrant, not him. If I were him I would do the same. Don't question me. HE is not a stupid man, I highly doubt that he would run for president if he couldn't. The only reasn people bring it up os because of his skin color.

Your last sentence was extremly racist but I will continue. Why was it not an insult for McCain? He showed his proof. Look I'm not say Mr. Obama is not all the things you say, I'm saying there are more important issues, show the proof and let's just move on. He has more issues just as a canidate than this. Like why Hilary did not concede her defeat. He should be looking over his shoulder at her and not worring about something so easily solved.

Here's already in the US Senate. That's enough proof that he IS in fact an American born citizen, even if the position may not require him to be so. A naturalized citizen, if that's Obama's status, needs to be a citizen for nine years before becoming a Senator

It is not a racist statement, it is what I have experienced in my life. The truth is the truth!

I wouldn't be so sure. Nothat Obama is the dem. candidate, I can guarantee that the black population will go out and vote. All those black southerners who never voted just might go out and cast their first vote ever. It is goign to be very interesting to see the results in the south.
