Thornbury Township Official Accused Of Taking $250,000

A former township official in suburban Philadelphia is accused of skimming $250,000 over an eight-year period.

I just saw the video of this story. The boyfriend who turned her in is now going to be charged also. He doesn't look very nice either.

I find it very hard to believe the township auditor was doing his/her job. They have elected auditors who are just a few untrained citizens but most municipalities generally have a complete professional audit by a CPA. She was shady and a thief but the township manager and auditor must bear some blame for not properly guarding the township funds and for being too stupid to realize that amount of money was missing. This wasn't just $20.00 her and there.

Absolutely correct! This is the reason that more then one person is responsible for funds. The auditors are put in place to do exactly that...audit!

Some of the blame must be borne by the Township Manager. That was too much money to go unnoticed unless their books are run in an unprofessional manner. Was this a patronage job? Let's have a background check on all the township employees. I'll bet some liberties were taken on their references.
