"abstinence is sometimes forgotten"???!!!
You either do or you don't. Conservatives constantly sell abstinence as the ONLY 100% effective method of birth control, and it is hysterical to watch you all making excuses for it.
The issue here is not Bristol Palin's pregnancy--at least not the current one--the ISSUES ARE:
1. Palin's hypocrisy regarding abstinence.
2. Palin's gross inexperience, and again the hypocrisy of the conservatives who have been attacking Obama for inexperience for months.
3. McCain's sloppiness in the first major choice of his presidential race.
4. McCain's pandering to the far right, and compromising his own values--from maverick to tool. In fact, he showed his true colors.
The funny thing is that you conservatives can not see how all this is playing out to the Independent voters, who are abandoning the sinking McCain/Palin ship by the thousands daily. The road to the White House is through the center, not the far right, or the far left. Compared to Pistol-packin' Momma Palin, Barack Obama IS John McCain.
Which is all fine with me. I was thrilled to see McCain torpedo his own campaign.
Barrack Obama SUCKS!!!!! When he swore into office he didn't even swear in on the Bible, Obama swore in on the Koran. He took the United States flag off his plane and put hios own made up symbol on it. He's ANTI-AMERICA.

People have to admit that their busy lives often fail their children. I think that Palin brushes her daughter's pregnancy off to something that is typical in American families. I think that what is more typical is that the parents who don't give the necessary time to their daughters (role modeling, talking, keeping better track of them, giving them reasons to WAIT to have sex), are the ones that often end up with pregant young daughters. Govenor Pailn mocks Obama in his efforts to organize communities for the better, whilst she is so busy with her career and touting what a bulldog she is, that she herself is unable to bring her daughter up properly. I feel that she has too many irons in the fire (five children, son in Iraq, special needs baby) to do both jobs justice. Her performance at the convention gets a judges rating of 10 for learning the lessons of poise whilst giving a speech that a Bush cronie wrote for her. Well, this is NOT a poise contest nor a new hot player on the block contest, nor a tough female bulldog contest. ONE of the lessons of the womens movement is that NO, we can't have it all!!!!
Apparently, women are solely responsible for the consequences of sexual activity and family rearing?

Parents (Dads and Moms) talk to your CHILDREN,(sons and daughters).

Maybe if you did your own reseach instead of listening to the media and what they want you to know, you'd know what I was talking about. It's all fact, if you'd only think for yourelf then you'd understand. I don't expect someone who lets everyone think for them to understand the truth.

No, but a governor who promotes abstinence education takes on an additional level of responsibility in this regard and is open to accusations of hypocrisy when she cannot make it work in her own family.
Nor is it any big deal that her daughter is not going to get an abortion. Her family is not exactly in a position of economic hardship. It is hypocritical of her to deny that option to women much poorer than her and her daughter.
That is the way of the "holier-than-thou" Christian conservatives. This November you are going to find out how sick the rest of America is of being judged by self-righteous hypocrites like you and Sarah Palin.
I am a self-righteous hypocrite???

Here's the scoop. Twenty-one years ago, I got pregnant at the ripe old age of 16. My home sex education talk was abstinance. My boyfriend and I made the decision to get married and keep the baby. Which we did. I stayed in school even though my family thought it would be best for me to drop out to spare myself humilation. I didn't. I had my daughter my junior year, and was back in shool two days later.

My husband and I worked very hard, went to college, worked opposite hours so we had time to parent. Had another daughter at the age of 20. Spent one full day per week in each of their classrooms from kindergarten thru middleschool, while working full time and going to UCCS full time. Did the best job parenting we could concieve of. Our daughters, now 20 and 17 are bright, socially conscious, talented and the best children I could ever dream of.

Is it hypocritical of me to try to teach them from my personal experience? To hope that they will have more options than I gave myself?

Oh, and by the way... we did not benefit from public assistence programs, nor were we supported financially by our parents. Not that I oppose such for those who have no other option. But here's another "hypocritical" thing I've lived and tried to instill in my children- There is no shame in honest labor.

Who is judging whom here? Looks to me like all the democrats are doing is judging Palin and her daughter. I guess to be a "good parent" she should have been with her daugher 24-7! Like I'm sure all of you democrats do with your children...

Here is a reputable resource: Snopes.
The letter from Palin's childhood friend is very, very revealing about the kind of woman we might have as president if McSame kicks the bucket in office.
And scary.

Peaches...hate to say it but with research showing you are incorrect, and with nothing to back up your load of crap...you come off as looking crazy. No, you don't have to prove anything to anyone, but when any person on this board can come up with old news files refuting the load of bull you're pushing, and you have nothing to back up your claims, anything you say seems like unsubstantiate, rumored libel.

Good information, and I was more than a little disturbed about the librarian issue. Found it interesting that Kilken voted for her for city council, though.

Maybe someone should send Aztec Mayor Sally Burbridge's name up to Washington. She's an honest, straight-shooting, hard-working, trustworthy mayor. And it sounds like she has as much experience as Palin.

WHOA!! You need to take a step back.

It is obvious that you need to get some perspective, and you need to try expressing yourself like a rational adult.

As was stated before, the propaganda relating to Obama refusing to salute the flag, and not being sworn in using a BIBLE has been proven to be lies MONTHS ago. So, you are making a mockery of yourself by repeating it now. Add to that your attack on others here, and you are putting yourself in a position where you now have little or no credibility at all.

You will find that on these forums, the other participants will make you accountable for your postings. So, if you can't back-up your statements with facts, don't try diverting attention from the propaganda you are posting by responding with expletives.

I think you are a little confused. I know that I did not have to give a political party affiliation to post on this or any other topic. Just because people disagree with what they see as hipocracy between what she "stands for" and what Ms. Palin and Mr. McCain have chosen to put out front in this campaign does not mean that all dissenting opinions are Democrats. They might just have common sense!!!

No...he said, "rational adult" not "irrational child."

Obama is for change, McSame is for the same Bush policies.

So if you like war, poverty, high prices, inflation, wiretapping, and fear.
By all means, vote McSame.

For example: This week at the Republican convention, John McCain and his surrogates attacked Barack Obama and mocked the power of community organizing.

They sneered at the idea that people like you can play a crucial role in turning this country around.

The Republicans just don't get it. Our movement was built by ordinary people working together in their communities -- and that's how we're going to win on Election Day.

There are so many facts, why are you using the bull?
Talk about the infanticide, Obama doesn't want aborted children born alive and breathing to receive medical care.
Talk about the flip-flopping on the Iraq surge.
Talk about how often he votes "present" because he can't decide yes or no.(how many presidents get away with that?)

Quit talking bogus stories that make people tune out.

Just some friendly advice.
