Cornyn wants drilling in oceans, Arctic refuge and more of West

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn called for more oil and gas drilling, lower taxes and a new system to finance the federal highway system during a stop here Tuesday.

"We know the failure of the United States to develop our own God-given natural resources has made us intolerably dependent on foreign oil," Cornyn, a Republican, told a crowd at a Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce lunch at the Petroleum Club.

to prop up these emerging countries and world trade we made a trade off to buy their resources as long as they would buy our treasuries. its time to pull back in all areas. our troops and our own resources. imho

Even if they drill new wells, it will be 10 years before we see anything from it. We need to get moving on new ways for power. Not just for our rides, but also for our homes. It's time to put a stop to us needing so mush oil. Some oil companies are looking for new ways. I call that being smart. Oil won't be around forever anyway. Why are we making all the other country rich with our money, anyway. Poeple that would love to kill us, we make rich. We need to keep our money at home. We need our little farms back to. American needs to start taking care of American. We need to become the Country we use to be. Now our great leaders buy other countries with our money, so they'll be on our side. What a joke!!!
