VIP means nothing. Verizon gives customers "VIP" membership cards if they are long-time customers spending over a certain amount annually. Big deal. You make it sound as if he was wined and dined.
I love to watch politicians fall over scandal, but this is petty enough to be absurd. You risk bad judgment with a policy of knee-jerk lynchings. First let the committees do their investigations and present all damning evidence they can scrape.

Of course Chris Dudd didn't do anything wrong...he's a Liberal Democrap who gets re-elected every time by the great unwashed, and he's got a sense of elitist arrogance second only to Slick Willie and his wonderful wife, Bruno.

The voters of Connecticut are brain dead!

Yeh, right. A partisan commitee headed up by that pillar of society Barney Frank is going to go after Chris Dodd. Wake up.

The electorate of Connecticut should be outraged by Senator Dodd. Dodd has finally lost all credibility with me. He should either resign or be censured by the Senate like his father was.

I find it completely outrageous that HE is outraged with CT's outraged voters. This is an outrage! He needs to resign and move back to Iowa. Outrageous!

What was the going interest rate for someone with his credit rating, and what did he get from Countrywide.

1/4 of a % better, and it is a crime.

Just publish the numbers, and see if he got preferential treatment based on his status, or was VIP just meaning rich guy that pays his bills.

Dodd got bought. He used his position as a senator and banking committee member to get a special sweetheart mortgage deal unavailable to other, less-connected people. The outrage is seeing the pontificating Dodd pound on the table with one hand while he reaches under the table for payoffs with the other.

Dodd believes that the people of Connecticut work for him, not the other way around. Of course he's outraged... how could anyone in blue-state CT challenge the word of their god in the senate? As chairman of the banking committee, with all of the donations from Citicorp to his campaign funds, to have gotten a mortgage with anyone but his hometown CT bank was plain old foolish and arrogant.

Can't wait for the wingnuts to show the same amount of outrage over Cappiello and his vote on health care seeing that his family works for a HMO.

Oh, and doesn't Cappy work for a shady mortgage comapny?

Dodd is vain and incompetent. But will an 'investigation' into his sweetheart mortgage deal -- by his crony Barney Frank -- show that Dodd is corrupt? Not likely. It will be up to the voters of CT to show Dodd to the door. Just like the good people of Iowa did when they sent the carpetbagger packing in January.

The outrage rightfully belongs to the citizens of of Connecticut, not the Senator. Elected to preserve the public trust of the people, Sen. Dodd has violated that trust. His indignation at the fact that he has been called to account for his unethical behavior justifiably creates indignation for his law abiding constituents.

Wined and dined to the tune of $75,000 in savings. When was the last time you got a deal like that? P.S. Dodd is ALWAYS outraged. He doesn't look like he's had a happy day in his life! Senator Scowl.

The Senate is not the House of Lords! Or is it? The late Strom Thurmond - a Senator for +50 years; Byrd of West Virginia - a Senator for +50 years; Ted Kennedy - a Senator for +45 years; Dodd a Senator for +25 years who has his dad's old seat. Nepotism? Maybe it is the House of Lords. I guess we haven't really moved beyond that, have we? Maybe, just maybe we should look for alternatives - as the saying goes; What has Dodd done for you lately? Absolutely nothing!!!!!!

Most didn't mind when Senator Dodd moved to Iowa. Any time a problem moves away, is a good day. It is his return from Iowa that bothers so many.
