you are one ignorant human...

my best friend is a messianic Jew. He is not a "Christian practicising Jewish customs"..

he is a Jew by birth and lineage who accepted Jesus Christ (another Jew) as his Lord and Savior.

The Jewish people were told about a "suffering" Messiah between 150-200 times by their prophets in the OLD TESTAMENT. If only you would crack open Isaiah and read the 53rd chapter....here's the 5th and 6th verse.....

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed"

Tell you what Barbara, you seem like you have some thirst for knowledge...I'll have him read your posts and respond to you in a much better manner than I can, as he is an accomplished writer/poet/and motivational speaker.

Till then, God Bless, and have a peaceful night.

you're being "pestered" by people who love you so much, they want your soul to live in eternal bliss. You will not understand until you ask God's love into your heart that we believe there are real, eternal consequences to that decision or non-decision.
Before I was saved, whenever I met a born-again Christian, I always marveled at their senses of joy...their giddyness...their kindness to me as they explained what they had discovered in their lives.
I never considered it pestering. I've BEEN pestered by people at other times....there's a huge difference.
Remember, there are thousands of religious fanatics of another stripe who want to do nothing more than lop your head off with a dull knife......maybe you should be thankful if you just get "pestered" on occasion!!!
If they love us so much, they'd stop trying to spread the word to people who have already heard about Jesus and weren't interested. Yet they persist. I've never liked a hard sales pitch.

The Moslem fanatics are just that - fanatics. Islam should not be judged by them any more than Christianity should be judged by Jim Jones.

I would be thankful if you respected my beliefs and stopped preaching. The moderate Moslems I know can respect that.

Please don't bother your friend. I am not interested in what he has to say. My life is fine the way it is. I am not searching for a messiah. I believe I've already stated that several times.

It's really not difficult to understand -- Judaism is about ONE G-d. Not two or three different manifestations, no demi-gods, no semi-divine humans -- just one G-d. G-d doesn't have children (in the literal sense), aunts, uncles, sisters or brothers.
It's the central tenant of Judaism, everything else is commentary.
If a human claims divinity -- that person cannot be Judaic.
Jews don't go around trying to make ANYONE else into Jews -- all we ever ask is that everyone else treat us with the same courtesy.

The "moderate" muslims you know seem to have no interest in bringing your soul to their "ultimate" truth??

why?

If a belief and following of Mohammed is the only way to paradise, is it only for the Muslim people? Seems very EXCLUSIVE to me!!!

BTW, a Muslim is someone who practises Islam, which is literally translated..."submission to Allah"....

I've never heard them say to the Jew or the Christian...."THIS is the way to paradise...come....join me"...why?

Seems MOST of them I have heard and seen wish the Jews to be pushed into the sea...go figure....

What's the matter Barbara? Are you really Jewish?

I KNOW he is. What is SO HARD to understand about this subject? Why would you NOT want to hear from someone who is a born-again Jew?

You keep posting here like a cat who can't get enough milk, yet half the time you are posting factually innacurate garbage, and the other half, you are begging us to just leave you alone?

Seems a bit masochistic to me.........

Why is it that so many wackos slide into Florida? Your beliefs are irrelevant. Glad you found YOUR ultimate joy, peace and wisdom. They're yours to keep, so keep them to yourself until someone asks.

Messianic Jews are going out of their way to offend the Jewish population, which tell me they are not good people.

Muslims who offend are not good people.

Same with Christians who walk around trying to save me.

If you have to sell me the bill of goods, it is wrong. Let me come to you, when I am ready. This is not a business...to those who are truly holy.

Arguing religion is the most insane thing to do on earth. What makes anyone religion better than the other? Also, we have been lied to so many times by our Government, President, school text books, etc... the list goes on and on. Are we really to believe that religion is the only thing that man has not tampered with and changed to meet the needs of self. People get real and wake up - stop arguing things you can not change.

People are going to believe whatever they want and most change the meaning of their own religion so they can do the things that are against their religion by making excuses and then defend their actions.

It appears to be another tool to keep us arguing with each other and divided while our Country is falling down around us and we don't care.

wow Eric...you're measure of a man or woman is when they celebrate a holiday?
sounds a bit Pharissitical....
but that's why He came after all...man couldn't keep all of God's commandments, so God made salvation absolutelty free for us, by letting Christ suffer through all of man's sin...take it upon His shoulders, and bridge us back to our Father through His blood.
No, my measure of a man is not when he celebrates but what he celebrates. The New Year that Jews celebrate is a celebration of G-d's creation of the world. The New Year that the Christians celebrate was borrowed from the Greeks and Romans and celebrates a pagan god. Now, which is the right New Year to celebrate?

A born again J*w? That's a new one! Why would I WANT to hear from him? I've already told you multiple times I'm not interested in what you are pushing. I don't want or need it. It is quite obvious that you not only can't take a hint, but you can't even take a direct request to stop. For someone who isn't evangelizing, you could have fooled me.
In order to prevent any further masochism as you put it, I'm done responding to you. You have been rude, insulting and condescending.
Not what I would call a person full of joy and love. Good night.

People seriously, the insults need to stop, especially for those who are representing Messiah, it must NOT happen. In truth Barbara has heard the Gospel and has made it clear that she has rejected it. She may die in her sins, that's her choice.

Coming to Messiah is not some kind of logic or persuation kind of a thing, it's simply this, if God wants a person to receive salvation He will open up their hearts to receive it, no one comes to the Son unless the Father draws that person to him.

Barbara, bless you and I pray that one day you will be reconciled with your God.

There is no one thing called Judaism, and never has been. Even at the time of Christ there were many factions and sects of Jews, from the well-known Pharisees (who were even divided into two schools-- the Shammaites and the Hillelites), to the Sadducees, and the lesser known Essenes. There were collaborators with the Greco-Romans, and there were violent resisters, like the Sicarii or Zealots. There were holy men, like John the Baptist, leading small groups of followers in esoteric monastic communities in the wilderness and in the cities. Judaism was not one thing.

Then, Yeshua beni Yosef appeared. His followers succeeded in establishing an inclusive sect of Judaism, which left behind the Bronze Age cult of tribalism, blood sacrifice, ritual disfigurement, and rigid law that had characterized much of Judaism's history up to that time. Christianity became the dominant sect of Judaism.

The threat posed by the Nazarenes to the interests of the Temple Jews was great. The new sect transcended state and class. It gave no heed to race or nation. Conversion required only belief. And so, as it spread over the entire world, it provided the impetus for the remaining Jews, who did not accept its radical revisions of their Bronze Age, agrarian/pastoral faith, to 'freeze' their beliefs rigidly into form as a means of defending themselves against absorption and disappearance into the new movement. Thus, to this day, what had previously been a quite diverse, vibrant and often sectarian faith, has remained relatively static and authoritarian, as a defense against the followers of the Rabbi from the Galilee.

The modern divisions in Judaism between Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Hasidic, etc, are by and large responses to Christianity and the Diaspora/assimilation threat. Modern Judaism is what it is because it is an identity religion, and had Christianity not begun when it did, would probably have gone extinct long ago as a remnant of agrarian/pastoral, Bronze Age culture.

Well said. When one thinks and honestly look at the world the Jewish people have affected the world greatly and in every aspect of society. though the Jewish people may be small in number compared to other nations, they have been very loud on the world scene and history. One can safely say that because of the Jewish people salvation and God has been given to the Gentiles. Though it may not be something that all Jewish people are proud of but Judaism is responsible for two major world religions and spin offs that have shaped the world significantly. So despite everything I love all Jews, especially Barbara :-). I love even more the greatest Jew who ever lived, Yeshua.

I agree, of Kansas there is no one thing called Christianity, that is why there are so many sects. Those who believe in the various sects are a remnant of the original.

By the way I agree the Bronze age was before the common era, and that was before the birth of Christ...

Jews don't eat pork for the same reason some Christians eat fish on Friday.

Besides that, they think pigs are cute.

As a member of a doomsday UFO cult, I rise in support of the right of all people to believe weird things without evidence. I even toy with convincing myself I ain't a jerk.

If you don't like someone believing in something simply because you don't think it's true, it's time to put both arguments on the anvil of logic and see which one crumples under the hammer.

Nobody will win the debate. Both parties can go home and tell their fellow believers how well they fought the fight.

Fought with words and ideas. If you resort to blowing people's toes off, you're only shooting yourself in the foot in the long run.

Civilization is more fragile than most people seem to think (judging by their behavior). Let's keep smiling warmly at people we think are idiots, and holding doors for strangers. Let's remember that we can live peacefully for our entire lives next door to someone who sees the world completely differently.

The alternative is the law of the jungle.
