Are you studying at Uni?<quoted text>
I am studying it and it is very interesting that we are supposed t respect scientists and their work. These guys tell you that all that we see as being objects and all that we argue about is all an illusion and a figment of our imagination. There all problems removed already. Wasting time talking shit :)

What i said was, "Unexplained phenomena? Thats how they get started, to win Nobel prizes!" That is correct, there isn't a Nobel Prize for crop circles, alien research, crypto-zoology or spirituality. |

Exactly! because the scientific establishment doesnt value what they do not understand. Hence no prizes for pioneers. |
"the scientific establishment doesnt value what they do not understand" This comment says more about you ,then it does about some of the most brilliant, inquisitive and cogent minds of our time. I can see you like to believe you are a visionary, who must deal with the backward scientific establishment,if only they would open their eyes and see "the truth is out there".LOL Heard it all before ,lived in northern NSW,around mullumbimby, its sort of a mecca for sloppy thinking. I had a great time though,i had a job and their are lots of single women. "Hence no prizes for pioneers." If 'Space cadets' are pioneers, then i award you first prize! |

Check some of the links I left on the "Aussies Are Pigs" thread. You were an RN, did you have the experience of being at bedside when someone died in stages? I have tens of dozens of times and a common occurence is for them to spend a few hours with one foot in this life and one in the other. They'll talk to departed spouses or parents, sometimes children, and the common denominator is that a long-deceased loved one has come to get them. We can still communicate with them but we are less real than the world they are going to. I've experienced this enough to KNOW there's something to it. When you're there, you can just feel it. |

I'll take that as a compliment. |
Because these things can't be backed up with solid proof. The crop circles are there, but nobody has ever proved who makes them, how or why they are made; 'alien research'- by 'aliens', do you mean the aliens described by UFO contactees? Crypto-zoology has gotten a bad rep because it's often practised with complete disregard for scientific facts and theories and the field is full of conmen and charletons. If and when somebody captures (or provides irrefutable proof of) a beast like Bigfoot, Nessy, the Yeti, etc. scientists may change their minds. The Russians made a lot of experiments with the paranormal - remote viewing, telekenisis, etc. I'm sure the Americans did the same, but we will never know what, if anything, they found. |

Of all the phenomena alien abduction is the weirdest. If so many people are being abducted (1 in 6?). At least 2 books have been published by Havard University academics on the subject. As you say, the solid proof is hard to get. It may remain so. |
The people who are 'abducted' believe it implicitly, but so did the medieval people who were taken to visit 'Faeryland'. Six million Americans (including some prominent people, such as Louis Farrakhan) believe they've been abducted by aliens. I ask you. Six million people? That's in one country alone. Some experiences - maybe most - are due to sleep paralysis, a sleeping disorder affecting 30%-50% of people at least once in their lives. Technically, they're awake but their muscles are paralysed and many experience visual and auditory hallucinations. These can be really terrifying and include feeling a threatening presence in the room, out-of-body experiences, or that they're under attack by hostile entities. They can also feel like they're being choked, or that something is sitting on their chest. Some see ET-like entities gathered around the bed. That could explain some experiences. The real abductions to 'space crafts' where abductees are operated on, or sometimes raped - they're telling the truth as they know it.'Repressed memory' techniques were used when interviewing these people, the same techniques used with Satanic abuse victims - hypnosis. How many lives were wrecked by idiots using these techniques and believing everything dredged up from the psyche - eg, the Satanic child abuse scare in the UK in the 1980s. |

Havard psychologist Peter Mack interviewed school children in Zimbabwe who collectivelly told him they were visited by small grey men with big eyes who landed a space craft in their school. The problem with this is you cant train an entire primary school to make up the same hoax. Under hypnosis they all recounted exactly the same events! |
