No, if you read the major research it is perfectly understandable. The US has had the world's stupidest drug policies since 1914.

Hey Dana,

If you're going to defend something like pot,(which I'm fine with) please do a spell/grammar check so we don't get a bunch of bastards calling you out.

Just saying.

NO, NO, NO...

don't be silly - the addictive drugs are the legal ones! That way the entrenched white dude selling liquour (20K/yr dead), cigarettes and big pharma can always make easy money! Pot has never ever ever killed anyone - it's illegality is all politics.

BTW, the biggest problem researching pot?...convincing the pot naive subjects, that yes, yes you are high, that's all it does...

Make that 100,000+ deaths per year for alcohol, 400,000 for tobacco, and fewer than 20,000 for all the illegal drugs combined. None for pot, of course. Aspirin, Tylenol, and similar drugs check in with around 3,000.

It is HIP to be SQUARE!!! I am a self with the help of GOD rehabilitated drug user and thank GOD every single day for the second chance to live a sober and fulfilling life. We must not make excuses for our weaknesses. Prayer will lead us all to a HIGHER POWER if we seek good health and happiness. Words cannot begin to describe the feeeeeeling of sobriety as all GOD'S creatures and wonders are clearly miraculous but, go unnoticed when our minds are cluttered with mind altering substances ie: drugs, alcohol, etc. We must all pray for our brothers and sisters to escape the DEVIL'S GRASP!!! Peace on earth will become a reality when we all follow our GREAT LEADER'S teachings, he goes by the name of "JESUS". Call upon him for redemption and you WILL receive the help you need...

When are people going to wake up and realize our war on drugs and our drug policies are a complete failure?

In the year 2007 alone, we spent about $50 billion on the drug war and made zero progress. Drugs are still rampant in schools, prisons and society in general.

When I was in high school which was only 6 years ago, alcohol was harder to obtain than any of the popular illicit substances. Just to reiterate, I could have got a hold of meth easier than I could have got some beer.

The illicitness of these substances only provides prime conditions for the black market. Prohibition didn't work then and it doesn't work now.
