Female cat peeing everywhere but in litter

You're welcome. Litter box without a hood is best. Remember cats in nature don't have a cover over them when they go to the bathroom. Many cats feel cornered in them. Get a mat that has no bumps as they can feel awkward to the pads on their paws. Please keep in mind that a lot of products out there are made just to pacify humans and not cats. Think like a cat and that will help you in your decisions. Thanks for caring!  (1 hr ago | post #196)

Wind turbines make bat lungs explode

hey Raptor - My problem with oil is we will need more and so many want to drill in Alaska and that will interfer with wildlife up there. Another issue is the oil companies have permits to drill for oil and they aren't even trying. Why? As for the windmills why couldn't they be lit at nite. Nothing bright but enough to the birds to know that they are there. They energy they produce can also help to prevent the killing of these beautiful creatures. I think our biggest threat to them is our encroaching into their habitat. We seriously need to stop the destruction of open land everywhere. Just think how many millions of acres are destroyed in NYS also. How many big box stores do we need anyway? Thanks for caring!!!!  (13 hrs ago | post #54)

A larger and higher litter box. My guess is her aim is off every so often. She's not doing it deliberately.  (13 hrs ago | post #194)

Bail set at $40,000 for Logan Square man charged with animal cr...

Maybe you need to think of another word instead of rights. How about respect? Either way they are here for a reason and have a purpose in the cycle of life. As for humans, I'm still trying to figure that one out. We as humans have just begun to discover how intelligent other species are and what is their role here. Take a look at dogs for example, they provide eyes for the blind, arms and legs for the handicap, they are used as therapy dogs for children and adults with disabilities whether physical or mental. They sniff out bombs, explosives, weapons and drugs. They do search and rescue and are used to locate cadavers and do it in the water, snow and over hazardous land. They have saved their human companions from drowning and from fire. And most of all they provide companionship to people. And we even have the rat which most people hate. Well these little creatures provide companionship to many and they are also trained to sniff out land mines. Many soldiers have these rats to thank for saving their lives. Do you understand how much these animals enhance our lives everyday. Are they not worthy of respect and compassion? That's all they ask for with some TLC. We are the lucky ones, are we not?  (14 hrs ago | post #93)

Your given $1 mil, what would you do?

Pay off this mortgage, buy 50 acres far out in the country, build a nice reasonable home,(2200 sq ft) invest the rest and use the dividends to help fund a mandatory spay/neuter law so we can stop the killing of all those that are just born to die.  (16 hrs ago | post #19)

We need more than just a little **** kicking. Good Lord a small animal and a baby no less scratches you and he throws it off a 2 story building. If this is acceptable behavior then we certainly aren't civilized. Which is my point, we a supposed to be the superior species and the caregiver of this planet and to all its inhabitants, well we're doing a real lousy job so far. Just looking at the state of our world is proof enough. Our biggest fault, lack of compassion for all LIVING creatures.  (16 hrs ago | post #90)

No pets for you. No pets.

I'm not a shelter worker, but I do rescue work and spend many hours rescuing these animals, taking them to the vets which costs alot of money, medicating them, fostering them and finding them a good forever home. I will not just give these animals to anybody. They must sign an adoption contract and agree to a home visit. I also ask for vet references. I have put my heart and soul into saving their lives and I'm not handing them over to just anybody. The only way to find out how worthy they are to have this animal is by asking questions. The only dumb question is one not asked. I have only turned down two people in 18 yrs, one whose home looked like the inside of a dumpster and the other how was on welfare, had 3 kids and 4 other cats. Not one of those cats saw a vet or was altered. My fee at that time was $30.00 and she told me she had to wait for her welfare check to come in. No way was either of these 2 people going to get a cat from me. They couldn't even care for themselves or their kids.  (16 hrs ago | post #320)

Take her to another vet and tell them what you told us! First test should be a urine test to check for a urinary tract infection, kidney or for crytals in the urine. Simple antibiotics for 2 wks if it's a UTI.  (16 hrs ago | post #192)

Wind turbines make bat lungs explode

Raptor - You have a good point but if we are going to use the bats as an excuse not to use wind power, it's a poor excuse. I am an animal lover and will do anything for them, but that doesn't mean we have to stop living either. we can still have wind power and protect the bats. The objective is to work with mother nature. Why couldn't we have wind power during the day and turn them off at night? This would only need to be done when the bats are not hibernating. During late fall, winter and early spring they could run at night. Drilling for oil is also a major threat to the environment as you well know and any nuclear accident (remember Russia) can also cause devastating effects. It's give and take for all species. Are we going to take all the cars off the road cause driving kills million and millions of wildlife everyday? Nice thought though :)  (17 hrs ago | post #52)

Good for you and Jenny too! Lesson learned the hard way and consider yourself lucky. So many never make it home again. Now you have peace of mind in case it happens again. Small price to pay huh :)  (19 hrs ago | post #380)

let's see, a kitten being tossed from a two story building is like a person being tossed oh lets say off a 10 story building. Shall we have a lottery on who gets to push this jerk from ten stories high?  (Yesterday | post #80)

Americans here and there

Good Morning Linda! Okay where do I begin? First things first and that is to apologise for being so lack on getting back to you. Sorry, sorry, sorry:( Yesterday was the first day back at school for the kids and someone asked me if I had a good summer and I turn and looked at them like they were crazy. I said summer, no way, wasn't that just spring break? Where the heck did it go. Here and gone????? Unbelievable!!!! Right now I just want to touch base with you again before I write to much. Just hoping you're still checking in at times. I hope you had a good summer and that mother nature was kind to you and all of Norway. She didn't cooperate here as we had either humid or wet weather all the way up until the 2nd week of August. Lost of storms and some of them were pretty violent. One of them was in the early morning and Dick was in the den watching TV and he came in the bedroom looking for me. I had been asleep and was woken by the storm and usually I go down in the basement, but I said to myself not this time. So anyway he came in the bedroom and didn't find me and said to himself, she must have gone downstairs and I replied no I didn't. And he said where are you? And I said in your closet:) He broke out laughing and told me to come out. I replied NO WAY!!!! It was one nasty storm. Anyway just wondering how you've been and hope all is well with you. Getting ready to come home soon. Hope this reaches you before you leave. Anyway it's almost one and I need to get up in a few hours so I'll say ha det for now. Missed hearing from you too!  (Yesterday | post #55)
