Autopsy Reveals Filly Eight Belles Was Healthy

Kinda what I figured. I've seen this same type thing happen in a pasture. A friend of mine horse was just running down a hill in a pasture and just misstepped. Wham, she broke her leg, just snapped it. The horse was in shock and got up and ran through a barbed wire fence. She laid there tangled until the vet showed, yes she was put down. She was a Thoroughbred too. Sad story then and this was sad also.

It's a shame that these large, strong animals have such weak legs.
Just breaks my heart everytime any animal dies, especially ones so young.
